Gouging & Cutting Electrodes
SUPERLINK CUT
A specially formulated electrode for cutting through steel, cast iron, and other metals using a standard DC welding machine without the need for oxygen or specialised cutting equipment. Produces a rapid, clean cut by melting through the base material.
Technical specifications
Cutting consumable — no weld deposit composition applicable
| Notes | Cut quality: moderate — edges may require grinding/dressing before welding. Suitable for demolition cuts and emergency field use. |

| Diameter | Current range |
|---|---|
| 3.15mm | 180–220A |
| 4.0mm | 220–280A |
Welding procedure & parameters
DC+ (DCEP). Maximum current for electrode size. Plunge electrode tip into material at 90° and drag rapidly. Typical amperages: 3.15mm: 180–220A; 4.0mm: 220–280A.
Typical applications
Demolition cutting, emergency field cutting of structural steel, removal of bolts/studs, scrap preparation, site work where oxy-fuel or plasma equipment is unavailable. Cutting of mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.
Storage & handling notes
For cutting/demolition use only — not for welding. Edges produced are not suitable for welding without dressing. High fume generation — ensure excellent ventilation. PPE required.
