Hardfacing Electrodes
SUPERLINK-500
A high-chromium carbide hardfacing electrode for extreme abrasion resistance. Deposits a eutectic high-Cr/C alloy structure providing very high hardness. Non-machinable. Check-cracking of the deposit is normal due to high hardness. Hardness approximately 55–62 HRC. Deposit exhibits low friction and good heat resistance.

Welding procedure & parameters
DC+ (DCEP) or AC. Flat position preferred. Preheat 200°C–350°C depending on base metal. Maximum 2 layers to control stress build-up. Do not peen. Allow to cool slowly.
Typical applications
Severe dry abrasion applications: mining excavator teeth, ball mill liners, cement mill parts, coal chute liners, clinker crusher parts, sinter-handling equipment, blast furnace bells and hoppers.
Storage & handling notes
Re-dry 250°C–300°C/1 hr. Check-cracks every 1/2 inch or so are normal. Limit to 2 overlay layers unless buffer is applied. Not suitable for impact-dominated applications.
