Medium & High Tensile Steel Electrodes
SUPERLINK 7018 SPL
A special-grade, iron-powder, low-hydrogen electrode with enhanced toughness properties compared to standard E7018. Meets the E7018-1 classification for superior CVN impact values, especially at lower temperatures. Recommended for critical applications where code compliance at −46°C or below is required. Produces X-ray quality welds with excellent mechanical properties.

Welding procedure & parameters
DC+ (DCEP) preferred; AC also usable. All positions except vertical-down. Re-dry at 300°C/2 hrs. Short arc. Preheat as required by material specification and thickness.
Typical applications
Critical structural welds requiring code-approved low-temperature toughness. Offshore structures, Arctic pipelines, LNG facilities, nuclear components, pressure vessels for cryogenic or low-temperature service.
Storage & handling notes
H4R designation: diffusible hydrogen ≤4 ml/100g. Critical: re-dry at 300°C–350°C for 2 hrs before use. Store in sealed containers or oven at 120°C–150°C after opening.
